In Majagual, Olmedo parish, in the Esmeraldas province, northwest of Ecuador, the Afro communities that live there preserve the tallest mangroves in the world. The Majagual mangroves reach a height of up to 65.2 meters and are distributed over an area of ​​200 hectares.
