Papá Roncón, is a legend of the marimba in Ecuador. Guillermo Ayoví Erazo, which is his original name, was born in a town in Esmeraldas, Borbón in 1930 and at a very young age he began to play the marimba, taught by the Chachi, an originally people from the Ecuadorian coast.
