Belchite, Guerra Civil Española 011.jpg
BELCHITE, ESPAÑA - SEPTEMBER 12 - 2018. Ruins of Belchite in the province of Zaragoza, Aragon. The municipality of Belchite is known for having been the scene of one of the symbolic battles of the Spanish civil war, the Battle of Belchite. The town was destroyed as a result of the fighting. The regime of dictator Francisco Franco decided to create a new town next door, instead of rebuilding the ruins, which are still intact, reminding us of the civil war. The whole is known as Pueblo Viejo de Belchite. (Photo: Patricio Realpe/ChakanaNews)
