ARANDA DE DUERO, SPAIN 4-APRIL-2010. The Bajada del Ángel is a traditional ceremony that takes place on Easter Sunday in Aranda de Duero, Burgos. A child dressed as an angel pulled with pulleys, comes down and removes the black cloak of mourning from the Virgin of "Our Lady of Mercy" in front of her son, "Risen Christ". La Bajada del Angel is also celebrated by the indigenous Saraguros of southern Ecuador and in Peñafiel, Valladolid and Tudela of Navarra. April 04, 2010 in Aranda de Duero, Spain.
