ALMIRUETE, SPAIN - FEBRUARY 25: ALMIRUETE ANCESTRAL CARNIVAL. The Mascaritas, dressed in white with floral ornaments, carnations and green ivy, and covered shoulders and back with a black shawl of flowers embroidered in bright colors in the village of Almiruete, one of the "pueblos negros" of Guadalajara, central Spain, during the carnival festival named 'La Fiesta de Botargas y Mascaritas'. According to tradition they dance to look for defend yourself from the evil spirits and "wake up the earth" after the winter so you can be ready to give prosperous harvest in the spring, on February 25, 2017 in Almiruete, Spain.
